Set aside time that is committed for you only your job search. Thinking that all day, everyday job searching will find you a job quickly is not the attitude to have. Set aside maybe 4 or 5 hours a day for job hunting and nothing else.

Write out a plan of what you want to have accomplished for a week of job hunting. Having it in writing helps you have an agenda of sorts to go by. Just a quick 15 or 20 minutes set aside to make the list can help you have a sense of structure.

Give yourself a break. Take time out from job hunting to take your kids to the park, go play golf, or go fishing. And don’t think about the hunt. When you don’t take time for yourself, and you are constantly job searching it’s going to increase your chances of burnout.
